EFTPOS is available in many establishments while travellers cheques and most credit cards are also widely accepted by businesses.

As Norfolk Island is not subject to Australian taxes and duties, it has gained a reputation as being a shoppers paradise.

Visitors can make the most of this low-tax shopping which covers a range of items, including perfumes, clothing, jewellery and household goods.

Tipping is not expected on Norfolk Island, however, if someone has given excellent service, a tip is always appreciated.
