Fiji Weather

The best time to visit the Fiji Islands is between May and November during the Winter season. The weather is still beautifully warm just not as humid as in the hotter, wetter Summer months of December to April. Temperatures in the cool season still average around 22°C and the islands generally experience minimal extremes.

The warmer season has a heavier rainfall, especially in inland areas, which is characterised by heavy, brief local showers. Winds are moderate, although cyclones do occur around 10-12 times per decade. Cyclone season is usually in the warmer months.

The climate in Fiji is consistent, temperatures tend to stay around the 26-31°C range all year round.

Rainfall on the islands is determined by the time of year, generally between April and November: the the 'wet' or 'cyclone' season. Trade winds in Fiji mostly come from the South East however the larger islands of Viti Levu and Vanua Levu can generate their own wind patterns.

The best months for holidaying in regards to Fiji weather is late March through to early December.
