Phone Calls – Most hotels have direct dialling facilities, but the charges can be expensive. The country code for inbound calls to Tahiti is +689 and there are no area codes. For outbound calls, dial 00, followed by the country code, area code and telephone number of the number being dialled.

Cell Phones – It is advised that visitors check with their network operator before leaving about international roaming facilities in Tahiti. An alternative is to purchase a prepaid local SIM card once you have arrived in Tahiti.

Electricity – Electric voltage is 220V (60Hz), and most hotels have 110V outlets for electric razors. Guests should bring adaptors with them for other appliances, such as laptop computers.

Water – Tap water in restaurants and hotels in generally safe to drink, but if you have a sensitive stomach, bottled water is also available.
