About Samoa

Samoa Weather

Samoa weather is distinctly tropical. Although it is in the southern hemisphere, because of it's proximity to the equator there is no major seasonal difference such as the summer and winter that occurs in more temperate regions. Samoa enjoys year round sunshine with temperatures rarely below 27°C by day and sea temperatures averaging 24°C.

Summer begins in December and lasts until April and during this time it is hot and humid (31°C by day) with bright sunny mornings and predictable late afternoon downpours.

By the beginning of May—the start of winter, a slightly cooler climate sets in with cooling trade winds from the south east. Temperatures are comfortably warm by day (28°C) and night (23°C).
