Most hotels in Fiji have direct dialling facilities.
The country code for inbound calls to Fiji is +679. There are no area codes.
Outbound calls use a dial out code of 05, followed by the country code and telephone number of the number being dialled.
It is advised that visitors to Fiji check with their network operator about international roaming facilities in Fiji before leaving their home country. Please note that some areas in Fiji do not have cell phone reception.
The current in Fiji is 240 volts AC 50Hz, with three-pin power points - the same as in Australia and New Zealand.

Travellers to Fiji should be aware that emergency response can be extremely limited. The few Fijian ambulances available are poorly equipped and staffed.
In the rural areas of Fiji, staff medical training is limited and there are often shortages of supplies and medications.
